So, what is a ‘Random Point’?

About ten years ago I made a list of one thousand points randomally scattered across Britain, my ‘RPs’. The rules were (1) each had to be at least five kilometres from any other, (2) not in a nature reserve or other environmentally sensitive area, (3) not be in or involve crossing seriously hazardous terrain, (4) be publicly accessible. When trying to visit a point, if it is discovered to violate any of the rules then the nearest location to the original point which obeys all the rules become the revised location.

I’ve visited maybe twenty or so of the RPs over the past decade, but have now decided to make a proper inroad to the list.
